MJ's little flock

Rats. I locked the keys in the car.
How frustrating! It triggered a bitter-funny memory of when my Dad died.
It is all a bit of a blur (I wasn't at my best) but I had to collect his ashes and personal effects and go to prepare his house for folk to come and pay respects and remember him.
I got off a very long flight, rented a car, and stopped on the way for provisions. That is when I locked the keys in the rental car in the grocery store parking lot.
The car rental company didn't answer the phone. The road-side assistance service that came with the car rental took 2 hours to show up and then said they couldn't do anything without destroying the car.
I think I burst into tears and a pretty rough looking young lad approached me and said he and his friend had a lot of experience of car locks. Hmmm! Well he and his friend had that car open in about 30 seconds flat. I swear I kissed them both to their astonishment. Hope they went straight after that but I doubt it!
Sorry - nothing to do with chickens - just it flooded back when I read your post.

I nearly forgot to share the Saturday breakfast Snap!

Janet's eggs this morning and the teacup is one of a pair. A mid-century design. Very translucent in the light

And here's another glamour shot of Ivy in the winter sun :love

Mrs BY Bob loves the cup. And she says Ivy is stunning! She truly has grown up wonderfully. :love

That's a great story. You are so lucky to have met such talented young men.

I have made the terrible error of locking the keys in a running car. That used to be possible back in the 90s when cars started locking the doors automatically when you closed them. I had a rental car and had just finished a round of golf. I drove around to collect my clubs from the bag drop. It was really hot and humid out so I left the car running when I hopped out to throw the clubs in the trunk. I popped the trunk, got out, threw the clubs in the trunk, closed the trunk, and went to the drivers door and it was locked.

The car sat in the parking lot running with the air conditioner running full blast for over 2 hours until Hertz got someone there to open it. It was like there had been a rain storm inside the car there was so much condensed water everywhere.

I've been so disgusted with the antics in Tribe 1 I spent much of my chicken time today with Tribe 3.
L to R. Notch. Notice how he still has tail feathers and a nice looking comb. Knock, Donk and Myth.

Not that I have favorites, but I do think Tribe 3 has some very fine looking chickens.
