He's from Brookyln of Jewish extraction. Wiki says: Draiman has a distorted, operatic baritone voice and percussive singing style.

He's using those stories to make a point about love. He's not using them in their own right. Same as the verse about Jesus in Suzanne.

Oh, I understand but remember... my degree was in Literature. I spent 3 years looking for & being held accountable for these sorts of inconsistencies! He gets away with it because he's so good but the song might actually have been stronger if he's stuck with David. Enough drama, drama, drama there to satisfy anyone. Still love him though...

He is Jewish I am pretty sure. As half Hungarian and Romainan (Hungary isn’t eastern by everyone anymore though) woman myself, I wouldn’t say it sounds too eastern. Maybe more northern if anything?
