My son and I were at the local shopping centre this morning and we bumped into a friend. We commented on how chaotic it was and he pointed to the line at the fish market, it was a good 50m (54 yards) long! Glad we weren’t buying prawns!

We had long lines too! But most people in the line were respecting social distancing and there were only 8 folks in the shop at a time. So the line moved quickly. I think I was waiting about 15 minutes from joining the line to walking out with the prawns. I don't remember for sure, but it felt normal for Christmas.

An update on my soft shell eggs. The avian vet had no appointments left before Christmas but was amazing spending time with me on the phone and telling me what to do with no payment required. Since then I have not had another soft shell egg and all 4 ladies are now laying!! Such an exciting Christmas present!! It turns out I thought I was doing the correct thing by feeding lots of fruit and veg leftovers from the house. I thought this would be really healthy for them but vet told me to stop for awhile so they only have the layer pellets and to add calcium with Vit D to their water every day for a week and then once a week after that - problem solved!! Not many vets would take time on the phone at such a busy time of year. I was impressed and thankful. I now know that ‘treats’ include household scraps not just meal worms, wheat and corn so will provide in small amounts occasionally. Thank you all for your support and setting my chickens on a healthier path. It is a steep learning curve!!

I added a new one recently at 9am, it's a marathon, not a sprint. It helps me to shrug off work stress.

We did , we spent time after eating, laughing and playing the games we bought them for Christmas. It was good to laugh so hard and be silly with the grandkids. Katrina was having fun until the shark jumped and scared her, she was fine when it happened to the rest of us. At any rate, fun was had by everyone. Then we did FaceTime with our daughter after we got home.

I love games at Christmas! It's very dorky, but we play charades and I could not get anyone to guess "halifax" sounds like pal, I, fax... Me, miming a fax machine in the backyard, hahaha we also worked on a jigsaw puzzle and then went to see our aunty and uncle where all the children were for more gifting and a swim in the pool. The kids were brilliant! Utterly ecstatic and very good at sharing and gratitude. I had a long cuddle with the youngest, Elliot who's only two months old. He had a great time, watching the other kids, goggle-eyed.
