Help me out folks.

My retired uncle recently gave a whole day of his life to help me out. Please suggest a thank you gift. His hobbies are riding his fancy bike every day in a sporty way and making bread in his breadmaker.

He loves lollies and chocolates but I just gave him some for Christmas.

Some kitchen places sell “kits“ for making special breads. Usually in a cute container. That might be nice.

I disagree with the premise that you ruined Peggy's liver. I'm not letting that stand.

Obviously you blame yourself. That's silly. You can't know what caused this to develop. This could have been genetic and been there all along. It's not like Peggy doesn't have any other genetic medical issues. There is no way to be certain. I know there is a theory that Peggy just ate the fat parts of the chicken feed. If that is true, how is that your fault? Peggy chose to eat the fatty parts. No other hen just ate the fatty parts. Did you only feed Peggy the fatty granules? Of course not!

You did the best possible for Peggy. You identified the problems and got her great care. If I had Peggy, she would likely not be alive today. I could not get her the care or have figured out what was wrong with her myself. She is truly blessed to have you as her checkeneer.

I need you to believe this in your heart.

It's nice of you to say. I know what it's like to beat yourself up. It's counterproductive and makes nothing better. MJ is an outstanding chickeneer. I bet she could even square Aurora up and make her fly right.

I'm pretty sure that outcome calls for a certain Bucket Boy's skills.

Actually it's on the "thank you and goodnight" list. Now, I realise this is an un-Australian thing to say but it doesnt turn or go up and down, and the cable is rusted so much it stains the clean clothes. I'm replacing it with a moee open feeling in the backyard and a celing mounted clothes hoist in the laundry.

And they take up a lot of space too.

Do you have a North or West facing wall in your back yard that you could attach a fold up clothes line to, to take advantage of sunny days? We get so much sun here in Aus, it seems a pity to waste it

Do you have a North or West facing wall in your back yard that you could attach a fold up clothes line to, to take advantage of sunny days? We get so much sun here in Aus, it seems a pity to waste it

The problem with those is they don't really hold much. Ok for a single person but no good for a largish family.

Our local bike shop has so many exciting accessories I feel my fingers twitching to buy stuff...and I can't ride!

Good idea. I'll think about it.

The laundry is in an outhouse. It gets quite warm in there so I think clothes on a ceiling mounted airer will dry quickly even though they're not in direct sunshine.

I was thinking of something like this but seven laths deep.

By the way, I always thought the outhouse laundry would be intolerable but I LOVE it. There's no laundry noise in the house!
