MJ's little flock

I also thought Shad said he couldn't ride a bike but in my case, I didn't have my specs on and i read the fullstop as a comma and confused myself :lau

The other explanation is that I am muddled and it is in fact Shad who can't ride a bike in which case the motorbike question stands!

Barring the unforeseen, in time it will be a very comfy chicken home. I usually pop over to Europe for three-four weeks a year and there are numerous trips to and from Sydney and Melbourne, so safe and happy hens in my absence is my main goal, aling with capacity for 8-12 hens with slow and steady flock growth.

How are you planning to dig/predator-proof your run MJ?

Yes that usually works best. For me the Dogwoods and the blueberries are native. Forsythia and Viburnum aren't native but both are ubiquitous in the area.
I am curious what sort of plants grow in your sand? Sounds like palm trees and succulants maybe?
Succulents do well. There's a thriving hibiscus. Some acmena have survived. The jacaranda is growing. The bottlebrush Dad put in is well established. Lots of people are growing wisteria. And many people lay weed mat then truck good gardening soil over the top. Then they can grow all sorts.

It's going to be fantastic in the long term too, as the flocks fills out. And it'll be great when I go back to travelling, assuming we all get back to it eventually.

I do some writing among a bunch of other commitments. In this case, someone whose work I respect invited me to write a section for his latest book, of course I jumped at it. He invited three others too but I don't know who. He was pleased with it and said it cohered with one of his chapters, so that's good.
Amazing and really amazing, well done!!
It was always my dream to be an author, instead I was a pastry chef/cake decorator for 18 years and now a Teachers/integration aide going on 2 years.

Succulents won’t survive, your girls will decimate them. :he

I don't write fiction, at least none that anyone (including me) would publish :lau it's all very dry but arguably important.

In terms of creativity, pastry cheffing and working in schools win hands down!
