We didn't at any of the schools I went to.Did you have many swimming lessons when you were a kid? We had swimming every summer. I think it was part of the curriculum because i was in a public school (eg state funded) in a very poor neighbourhood. It was very much a "no frills" primary school.
Thank you. That first picture is a lovely shot.
some reason this jogged a long buried memory of croquet. It is one of the few games where the objective of making someone else lose is higher than the purpose of winning.I'm comfortable playing all sports but I'm no good at relating to sports people. I don't really understand competition. I've read lots about it, but I'm yet to find a good answer to this question: why set so many people up to be losers? It seems like a violation of dignity.
However if I play a sport with people who are humble and generous in their wins that's different because then I can respect what we're doing. Hard to find such people though. It takes a lot of self assurance to be humble in a win and dignified in a loss.
That is a great picture!Thank you.
The wee ones are coming out of their shells more and more. They will get shirty once I’m back at work and they can’t free range most of the day
One more shot, we were in the spa so it’s far away but it was cute to see them all resting together under the almond tree![]()
Sorry. So weird. No idea why those posts combined. For

Yeh, see I can't get on board with making losers. Some of which is codified into rules of play and some of which is behavioural. For

I was labeled "clumsy" or "accident prone" as a child so I guess I just believed itI never thought of it that way. Is your lack of coordination from birth or did something happen? My brothers oldest child has a lack of coordination from birth. Come to think of it, I've never seen him ride a bike.![]()
I have to confess I am getting a bit of a chicken-crush thing for Alice. She has quite a look about her (now she has taken to wearing feathers again)!

I think she is just spectacular. I just love her up-do.![]()
I beg to differ.
I can sink to the bottom of a pool faster than gravity can pull me.
Swimming to me is something I have to endure once in while mainly because it's a cheap bath.
I can sort of swim; enough to save my life if I'm quick, but all that relax in the water nonsense I hear is for people who aren't lead bricks I've assumed.
My hubby is the same; he can swim but he doesn’t float, so swimming isn’t a relaxing pastime for him.
