Most hens will have a light molt after sitting. Mama does every single time. She never has had a full molt.I think Ivy is having a moult too. That's a wing feather by her foot. It had only just dropped out.

I long for the days that I'll be able to sit down and throughly enjoy a true tea.Your little milk jug gives me great joy every time I see it. It is truly a lovely thing!
The little teapot!
Oh I hope so. I also hope she is as sweet.I'm thinking Bean might end up looking like Mal. Honestly that's why I picked her.
It's a very satisfying quality of life thing well worth making 30 minutes for.I long for the days that I'll be able to sit down and throughly enjoy a true tea.
That's good to know. Thanks! Most hens will have a light molt after sitting. Mama does every single time. She never has had a full molt.
Some days she's purple, some days she is green, and some days she is blue. I like to think that it is in reflection of her moods. Let me see if I can find a green or blue.Wow. She has loads of purple. The Marans have been more greens and blues....sort of.
They really are lovely, both of them.I don't have a preference either way. I find pretty much every chicken appealing. Sometimes the very lean bantam breeds strike me as not very chickeny, but I still like the way they look.
Anyway here are Ivy and Mary in the west wing. Mary is working on an apple core.
