MJ's little flock

I'm so proud of the hens who have learned the morning routine of leaving the big coop and meandering across the yard and into the funrun, with a little help from some sprinkled smidges of lettuce to keep them focussed. This morning's effort took less than a minute, with neither strays nor stragglers, and gets a gold star!

I totally agree; and the advent of mobile/cell phones means that we’re expected to be always available. Hands up those who remember ringing a friend’s home number and if they didn’t answer you just tried again later?! :frow

I keep my phone permanently turned off. I can always return a call & the nuisance value is eradicated. Plus the phone is mainly used as a camera. :lau

I use websites in a browser that confounds tracking. It's called duckduckgo (nice poultry connection!) and you can get it for most phones.
I use that too; plus No Script and being on Linux makes for better security in general.

My daughter brought me this last time she visited.

Wurt wandered off one day never to be seen again.
Able grew up a lovley rooster and lived with Tribe 1 for a while. He died in a hawk strike. All the hens escaped unscathed.
I gave one pair away.
Sidney also wandered off never to be seen again.
Myth is still alive and living with Tribe 3.
Mini Minx (Mum) died protecting them from a hawk. It seems she got the chicks to cover and faced the hawk in the open.
Wow. That is quite list. Hawks take quite a few of your chickens don't they. Two of them died protecting others. Chickens are quite brave animals despite their reputations. :hugs :hugs
