MJ's little flock

Guess what happened today...

There's now only one section without wire on top :weeand various other little things to finish, like attaching the wire properly, making the chicken door, and finishing the human door.

This project has been a wonderful opportunity for me to expand my patience :)
Nearly there! :love
I can't remember if you already planned for this - but I would get some big hooks installed in the cross beams of the top so you can hang plants, feeders, wind-chimes or whatever else takes your fancy.

You are extremely patient. They are taking forever to do this. I built my run in two evenings. Yours is quite a bit larger than mine but still.
I am now at 18 months for the Chicken Palace - but just like MJ there have been long periods of no progress at all. Sometimes because of weather, or vacations, or illness, or just 'because'.
To be honest the slow pace suits me because I never feel rushed into deciding something without having time to reflect on what I really want.

That’s great! Do you have an idea when they will be able to finish?

What else does the Chicken Palace need?

I agree the slow pace is beneficial in unforeseen ways. I've been able to imagine the nests and roosts in various different locations and fully consider the advantages and disadvantages of each.

Once I've settled the account for the funrun, I'll be able to look ahead to paving the 1m path all the way around to deter foxes and dogs from digging their way in. Then I'll do the nestboxes. Finally, I'll do the roosting box.

Great minds!

I have several ready to go :)
