MJ's little flock

Yes, it's very handy!

I feel like a proper chicken person now I'm so keen on poop!! :gig💩
It's one reason I don't mind pulling them early. I know exactly whose poop I'm looking @ & if I need to worry.

I can see why you'd need to with a larger tribe. With only four, I get more chance to map poops to hens.

This is an hysterical conversation! :gigThe things I sometimes find in poop should make a sane person quail!

It's a fresh but dry morning in Adelaide so I'm rugged up in a thick winter jumper over my pjs and having a tea in the funrun. The hens have grouped up to my left and are having a preening party. The gentle clacking of their beaks is the perfect music to accompany some lazy time.

I had a lazy day today mainly outside in a chair by the fenced area I have created for the Princesses. It will eventually be planted with shrubs and become the chicken garden, but for now it is just a bit of a green area they can hang out in.
I wanted to watch to make sure they were smart about running in when there were raptors overhead. They were very diligent and that made me happy.
It was also a great opportunity for me to ‘match poop to hen’. I have only one word to describe this: copious.
All five Princesses are prolific day-time poop producers. All good as far as I can tell - but I swear they pooped their body-weight in just a day! :lau :lau
