MJ's little flock

That's interesting. And somehow I got lucky with my four who make very little noise.
Exactly. The breed characteristics are very general so it comes down to the individual hens. And maybe the output of the hens they are joining? Bokky wasn’t very noisy without Penny (except when the newbies arrived and she voiced her displeasure very loudly for a week or so😅) and wasn’t laying anymore so no escort call.
Maybe your new ones will be similar, quiet like your 4 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was hoping the little flock would condition them to be happy without squawking like a parrot, especially as I'm thinking about this breed for Ivy to hatch, so their early childhood will be passed with quiet adults. But I'll still talk to the breeder to get her feel for how much the tendency to noise is genetic (seems like it would be zero to my mind, but I'm no expert) and how much conditioned.

It is extremely lovely. Good choice! :thumbsup

Now we need to see it in use with breakfast. 😁
Rightio.

Ivy's eggs with some bacon.

MJ, I really wouldn't worry too much. Even if they are squawkers as youngsters they most likely will settle down as they age & begin to lay. Remember what screamers I said my Campines were? They hardly make a peep these days. They'll never be calm sensible birds but they're not the harridans they used to be either.

I did not realise they had quietened! That's good to know.
