I’ve used puff all my career but did she maybe make the pastry herself? If so it might have been more like a croissant pastry with butter layered in it instead of fat?
Yeah, the pastry was made at the same time. I thought it might be some type of shortcrust pastry.... :idunno That was almost 50 years ago though.
 
Ooohh, can you share the recipe Scrambles?
I want to recreate my Grandma's sausage rolls but all the recipes I find use puff pastry. 😥
Grandma's pastry was rich and buttery and not too flakey. :drool
I would like that as well. Sounds yummy and I love trying new recipes.
