MJ's little flock

They are really stunning birds. What is that like a 12 hour drive? Not totally absurd with an overnight stop. Maybe when I retire - could be a fun way of seeing parts of the country I haven't seen.
I worry about the feathered feet though. Mine seem to always have muddy feet as it is so I imagine they would get messy and I also worry their flock mates would peck them out.
Otherwise they are really are the perfect chicken for me - black and not too many eggs.
You'd recall Peggy plucked Ivy's feathers at first but stopped when she had enough space, things to do, food etc.

Also both Peggy and Ivy have feathered feet which are not plucked by Janet and Mary.

If there is plenty of food in lots of containers, and chickeny things to do, then I doubt feather plucking would arise.

I have to see a specialist to get an opinion yet.
I’ve been walking around without my stick today but I think it is making me over confident. I don’t want to forget I have an injury and make it worse!
A meniscus tear will not heal on its own. It may not get worse but from what the orthopedist told my wife, it does not improve.

Mine are almost always under cover of some kind. They definitely prefer it to the open.
We'll, there's a lot more cover choice in the funrun now than there used to be.

I'm going to continue with my funrun plans and once it's all ready, I'll think about plants so that one day the hens have their own green ceiling.

Here she is ..
