MJ's little flock

Aww, thanks 😊! She's a lovely hen with a placid personality. 😍

She is spending the day in the Broody Run today and has adjusted well - no pacing and staring at the door leading to her nest so far. It's only a few degrees above freezing, so maybe that will help cool off her underside quickly!
It's quite cool here too (but nowhere near freezing). Maybe Mary will cool off a little?

Oh @Ribh I keep forgetting about those two you lost early on.
Yes but she went broody when I wasn't around to monitor, went into a broody trance & basically starved herself. She was a young hen, 1st time broody & made a hidden nest outside the coop & not even on our land. She made all the classic mistakes but it's why I keep an eye on all my broodies.

Alinta went broody about a month ago thankfully it didn't stick, just a week or 2 I think. Definitely too last in the year for hatching babies. We generally have mild winters compared to many areas, but still.
We're just going into spring, so it makes sense Mary is sitting.

Wednesday Wherever

Thought I'd share another tea infuser. Brunch egg by Edwina.
