They seem to be doing ok. Tegan has stopped being broody and River appears to be responding to treatment. Thanks for asking!@LozzyR how are the hens at your house going?
I think she had her hard moult last winter. And with a full crop too! Is this one not moulting yet?
I'm pleased you found it useful. It does make life so much easier if you can handle chickens with confidence.By the way @Shadrach I'm very grateful to you for teaching me to handle the chickens at night time and how to lift them up correctly. It's getting easier and easier as the hens learn there's nothing to fear.
My guess a lot. All the Fall recipes in the US using pumpkin for example and butternut squash. This is a nice thought! I wonder how many other recipes are linked to the seasons.
I am trying to tell all your red ones apart. The one in the foreground not molting has a distinct white tail. Does she have a name yet?
I agree. It took me a while to get it but it definitely helps. My only problem is that there is enough room for even a half asleep chicken to walk off down the roost as I approach.By the way @Shadrach I'm very grateful to you for teaching me to handle the chickens at night time and how to lift them up correctly. No, not yet. One of the problems I have is until they finish moulting I won't really know what they look like.I am trying to tell all your red ones apart. The one in the foreground not molting has a distinct white tail. Does she have a name yet?
