Or trauma? One of Chickie’s eyes was permanently dilated but she should have been vaccinated and I had her for 18 months.
Maybe. I don't know much about her life before I picked her out at the fodder store.

It's more the corona around the pupil that I'm thinking of.

She does look like she's staring. Is that what you mean? It's rather pale around the eye too.
Yes. To me it looks like that sort of eye.

She was my favourite because she allowed me pet her while the other two were having none of it.

A few weeks after this photo she got coccidiosis and pulled through, only to have her head bitten off in the fox raid a few days later. They left her body and head behind and took Alice and Nigella back to their den.

I spent about 18 months getting over it then sorting out a fox-proof coop before I brought first Janet then Mary to live here, followed by Sandy (who needed a home) some time later. The rest you already know.

Dora's remains are buried under the fox proof coop.
