MJ's little flock

So far today she hasn't budged from her nest but it's only ten past seven.

My cousin lives in Berlin and is home for summer. She's staying at my place for a couple of days.and yesterday helped me move, count and stack 500 pavers.

The pavers had lived under these bushes for at least ten years.

The bugs. The bugs! The hens had feast!!!

They'd never seen so many bugs!
Some of those pavers look a lot like bricks! 😄

Underneath stuff is the best place to find insects.

At least that shows you were lifting them right. Good it isn't your back that hurts.
It was a little sore but not from lifting. We had to bend right over to get the pavers out of there and 10 minutes of holding that position was enough to give me soreness. It passed after one sleep and a little ibuprofen, while the thighs continue to complain.

It will pass as you know. :hugs :hugs

So lovely to watch the process. We hope to let someone hatch this year.
It's very enjoyable for me too, but I'm worried about a few things. I have no idea whether Rocky the rooster and his hen friends make fertile eggs because this is the first time a hatch has been attempted :fl I have no idea how I will manage if the hatch goes wrong, so I'd really like no complications on hatch day :flI have no idea how the other hens will react to baby chicks :fl

Once they're hatched, running around and accepted, I'll be very happy!
