I tried to explain the “birds and bees” of chickens to a friend this past weekend. Wow! I felt like I was teaching a biology class to a five year old.I think the five year old would have understood it.
She couldn’t grasp that there are fertile eggs and infertile eggs. And, she thought roosters lay eggs too. She didn’t even realize that chickens “do it”.

That's quite basic knowledge. Did you tell her all birds and animals procreate through sex? Come to think of it, so do plants and corals.

I used to think I didn't know anything about biology and then I saw Kat's post and realised there's someone who knows less than I do!

I have run into that too many times. I am always a little sad for them. Such a lack of curiosity combined with a poor education.
