MJ's little flock

Thanks mate! I think so too. So far the hens have survived some brutally hot weather and the coop plays its part in that success.
It's a cultural thing I think. The northern spheres think snow & ice. We think heat, heat & more heat. My girls would line up along the verandah & face into the sea breeze all year round. It rarely got cold enough for them. I've had half a dozen all winter trying to roost outside in weather I don't want to be out in!

Good point. It would be cultural assumptions playing out.

You have too! I forgot about your tree huggers!

Hmmm no poop to be seen but quite a bald spot. Poor Mary. I'm not laughing. I will not laugh. No. No.

:gig

Poor darling, she can't help her capacious butt fluff! Of course it catches the poops!

I have both. -10°F to 100°F. (-23°C to 38°C) The heat is by far the hardest to deal with.

Now where does one get those, I wonder? 🤔 I had thought of them but have no idea where you would locate them. I have known raptor handlers use a sock in an emergency but not as a regular thing....
I think many of the people who keep birds of prey make their own.

I am not sure. I think when it is 100 I feel -10 is better. But I remember how worried I was at -10.
I just don't like extremes.

Me neither. :( Out here we're really only dealing with the one extreme. You get to do 2 & that changes how you need to prepare your coops.
