MJ's little flock

And of course that must be followed by a chicken or two

Yup. Me too.
I do the NYT set most days. That is Spelling Bee (which is the most brain aching and I often have to come back to through the day), Wordle, and Sudoku.
Better than Sudoku though is Killer. I don’t know if it exists digitally. Probably. It is Sudoku but with no starting numbers. Instead there are little sums. So two boxes linked together with ‘3’ has to be a 2 and a 1. But which way up will only be clear by looking at other squares, and if course that is an easy one! I often fail to finish one of those and the hardest are rated at taking an hour.
I will see if there is an online version and send you a link. I think you will like it.
I sit in the chicken run and try and figure them out.
Sometimes I have a chicken in the canopy above me which can be distracting.

I used to try to do a daily sudoku but i’m terrible at it. I don't have any memory for numbers, if I don't use the notes, I can only attempt beginner level. I’ve been lazy and haven't done one for a long time now.
One other thing I used to do and have stopped out of laziness was to memorize a few lines of poetry daily. I subscribed to Poem a day which sends you all kind of poems in a daily mail, with a reading and a small explanation. I really have to take it up again, as it did wonder for my memory.

How is Christa's health, @MaryJanet ?

Cannelle trying to pay a visit to Christa and Joyce. I told her she’d end up in the Pacific close to Chattam island, not in Adelaide. She kept digging.

That's uncanny! I also subscribe to Poem a Day, although most days I haven't the time to read and think about it, sadly.

Thanks for asking about Christa. The course of Lincospectin ended yesterday. Everyone seems perfectly fine, except for Janet who's still sneezing but only a little. Today, they'll start on probiotics in the water. As far as I can tell, Christa continues to thrive. She's eating a lot and she always runs instead of walking.

Canelle is very welcome, according to Joyce and Christa. Reinforcements.

The others just looked at me as though I'd lost my mind, another one of those red ones visiting??? Two is already too many. No. She can visit, but we'll be in the run with the door closed.

I said, she'll be good company!

They said, we believe it when we sees it.

I said, she speaks French!

They said, we speaks Chookun. We no speaks Frensh.

I'm thinking the red marauders have left a few psychological scars, but if Canelle turns left once she's approaching New Zealand, she should soon be able to hear Christa and Joyce when they wake up in the morning and home in on their calls, it's like radar.
