MJ's little flock

Well, I think the new vet (Dr Jing) was more thorough and consequently more expensive that Dr Mark, who has a lifetime of experience and can pinpoint a problem very quickly.

I found the length of the appointment (around 40 minutes) and the integration of lab tests and diagnosis very reassuring.

On the whole, I think I've found a satisfactory replacement vet for Dr Mark.

I must say crop wash cytology sounds very specialized!
What is the new docs name. I think we have all got used to ‘Dr Mark’!

Dr Jing! She's very nice and keeps her own chickens.

It's a shorter drive too, which is probably a good thing for a sick chook.

That bill seems to parallel my vet. I'm amazed you found another in such a seemingly easy fashion. Was it so simple to locate a replacement for Dr. Mark?

I'm glad there was a good explanation for what was ailing her. :thumbsup

Actually the local vet now does exotic species too. That's where Blossom goes and I don't always find the people who work on the desk to be personable.

So I chose another one from a web search. There are several exotic species specialists to choose from within a 45 minute drive.

Dr Jing made a very good impression. She was careful and thorough.

I am forming the impression that Australia is just better when it comes to vets for chickens.
It is not just Dr Mark and Dr Jing, the best videos I have seen on chicken medical care are from that Australian vet whose name I am blanking on.
