MJ's little flock

I think she's a bit down and wary.
It's like being in hospital for us except she doesn't know why and she doesn't understand what's going on.
She doesn't look uncomfortable physically, though it's not long enough to really tell.
It seems overall like a positive evolution!

We use an old school magnet all the time. Unfortunately with people having left stiff in the soil for more than a hundred years it's a never ending story. But even if we are very careful, we sometimes find our own screws or nails ! So stuff left over from the veranda also seems very likely to me.

You live by the sea. If it's like us in Nice, there are quite a few retired old guys passionate about metal detecting on the beach. In Nice I could have put an add for someone to come with a metal detector, likely for free if they get to keep what they find.
Our friend Agostino, who passed a few months ago, was really into this before he was too sick and he found so many old tools at our place, and a knife we had lost.

That's an excellent idea. There's always someone on the beach with their metal detector. Next time I see someone I'll ask them how much to do the yard.

I'll do the magnet sweep up too.

Yes, she's improving but unhappy. I'm looking forward to hearing about her enzymes and kidneys when Dr Marika calls again.

I thought there was a moment in the video when she appears to squeeze herself. Maybe that's from her gut hurting her.

Maybe Katie misses her flock mates very much. Is there a way to have her in sight of the flock in a separate cabin/prefab/run during the day?
I think it would be great for her mental health to be around her flock mates again.

I've just had the evening chat with Dr Marika and Katie's enzymes are much improved from 1500+ (unreadable by the machine) to 1100, which is a huge improvement but still not good enough.

Katie did some 'normal' chicken poops this afternoon too, and that's wonderful news!

Sadly, she has to remain living on her own at the hospital because Dr Marika wants to take precise measurements of what she's eating and drinking. But I hope she will be coming home on Thursday.

To check her enzymes are doing OK, she may have another blood sample taken before coming home or a week after being at home.

I don't think that's going to be possible, but she will be coming home after her chelation therapy concludes, which is in 2 days. So she doesn't have to be unhappy for much longer. And the important thing is that her kidneys are working again.

I forgot to mention the little lump of something that was in her crop has passed through.

That is very good news. 👍
