She inspected the little coop and said no thanks (quite a surprise because it had been her firm favourite for a long time!) then laid it in one of the new nest boxes, which only Peggy had used in the past. I'll clean out all the boxes and put a bit more straw in now the team are coming out of Winter holidays.

And the real joy of it all is that my cousin's little boy was here for lunch with his grandpa and greataunty at the time, so he collected the egg!

I was very reassured to see Ivy eating some shell grit today. The pellets have grit in them already, but she knew she needed more.

Just piping up to say I'm really looking forward to the weekend which has only one social commitment scheduled. Last weekend had five. If the sun shines I'm going to do a few chores in the funrun.

Apparently sunshine is unlikely but rain is impossible, so a Saturday of chicken chores awaits!
