Modified hoop coop idea, been done?

OK, I thought the roof would be angled where the hoop would go.
Since you need to attach to the cross member you indicated,
the angled 'roof' I drew will not really work.
Would still love to see a pic from farther away showing the whole shootinmatch.

The panels are pretty easy to cut with an angle grinder and cut off disc,
if you have and are familiar with that tool.
I would propose cutting over burying.
Will you use Tposts to define/support the 'wall' parallel to the barn wall?

More likely 4x4s as I have lots.

Could still do about 12-15 inches of slope, from bottom of that board(i think its a 2x10, or 2x8) to just shy of the roof, easy enough to add something there against the barn wall to attach the higher side to. This is the only overall pic I have handy, out grabbing supplies before the snow flies here. Will measure for the slope when I get home.

I have a cheapie angle grinder but gets the job done.

I don't think the curve of a panel will clear the door.
If you have lots of 4x4's,
might just build a frame out of those and cover with mesh,
instead of using livestock panels.

The modified half-hoop you proposed here is not really that simple either.
Seems so, throw up this big panel and viola! instant run.
But it still needs to be supported with some framework.

Simple hoop coop would be full hoop out of hog panels(stronger),
attached to tposts on sides.
Still have to add smaller mesh and tarp or other cover against the snow.
Can you go off other side of existing run, how far does that concrete go?

Well. Yes it did sound simple for a minute there but now there are several challenges.

The concrete side yes. Maybe I should consider that more. It might be 6 feet of concrete, I'll need to check. There might be enough height to the roof line there to just continue it out say ten feet. Many new layout possibilities. A grow out/broody pen with a door from the brooder...lots of fun ideas. A duck pen with the concrete to put a pool on to reduce mud.

Oh no I'm digressing.
