Hi Jackie! Nice to see you again. I am sorry for how you're feeling and I'm sure none of it is intentional on anyone's part. I looked at your recent posts and they were on ducks, geese and peachicks - all of which I know nothing to very little about. I hope to see you posting more and I'm sure folks will try to help if they can.

I think part of the problem is that this board is so huge!

I have posted a question only to see it slide off of the 'Recent Posts' page within minutes. There are so many people posting at the same time that threads seem to get buried within a day rather that within a few days like they are on a lot of other boards.

There's one forum (not on chickens) that I read a lot, where the owner of the board and the moderators really keep an eagle eye out for the newbies and unanswered questions, and swoop in to answer their posts. That really helps. But even though that board is big, it's not as big as this one - I don't know if that kind of attention would be possible here unless there were bazillions of moderators to keep track.

Same thing here too. It is not just you, trust me. I see plenty of posts with 0 or 1 replies. I try to go to those first because it bugs me when no one responds, but it is what it is. It isn't personal. Very few of us here actually know each other.

...(i am ALSO in the thread killer club!..

...)....what i usually do is..just simply, bug the heck out of them!!...i'll just keep re-posting or beg(begging works well....

..), plead, bribe, and even black mail!!!!..

...till i get at least a few responses...but i find that when i have had a real concern...they will usually always come in to help...they are good for helping others...so stick around...we can bug 'um together!...

I used to feel the same when I started out. The title of the thread makes a big difference. I usually hit recent posts and check out anything that catches my eye. If you have an important question, bump it up on the page by posting once in a while until someone hits on it or change the title.

i haven't been on lately. and i only read every post with "help" in the title. or something i think is worth reading. and then if i cant help with the problem. i wont post... probably is the same with most people. we should all (A lot do. myself included). Go through unanswered posts. then less peoples chickens would die (im serious.. i can go through the unanswered posts and see 3-4 "Chicken dying" "sick chicken" threads that wont be answered. MAINLY what keeps you from getting replies is the time of day you post (Someone may have said what im saying already.. not sure. as i didn't read all the pages) early morning 5-7, its "ok" to post. but may not get a reply. anytime after that. 90% of the time... you will NOT get a reply until about 3PM, anytime after 3PM its about 50/50 until 2am then it drops down to no replies until 5-7, and restarts..

If you want to get a lot of replies on a thread make a thread about-Chicken love stories, Your chicken/dog/cat died. or a family member. maybe cute pictures of your chickens/chicks and other pets. Rant about Politics, or religious views (actually no politics/religious views lol.. pretty much against the rules. or.. the threads get closed to down a lot). Rant about evil neighbors or something else.. all of these will get you 3-9 pages long, some longer. maybe shorter depending on the story of it.. any other posts. you most likeily wont get more then 3-8 replies

I have felt the same way also. and am also apart of the thread killer club.

I said to my self a few times thats it I am not going back just to get on the next day.

I hear ya'. And I've been around for a long time!

Since the old byc on ezboards.

I figure I just didn't make enough friends here or whatever. I don't chit chat much off the boards with members here nor have many IRL friends from the board. A lot of the more popular ones do.
