molting - only hens do that?

I know absolutely nothing about chicken, sorry if my question is stupid. do roosters molt, as well?

All birds molt, boys and girls. It seems to me that it's more noticeable on the hens but everyone needs to replace their feathers for winter.

There are no stupid questions - unless perhaps it's something like does the earth revolve around the sun.

Yep. Tattered feathers don't retain warmth, so all birds molt to have fresh feathers to keep warm. (and for the hens, get ready to raise babies)
