More humane to cull? More humane to live?

cannot eat crumble at all and would have to be fed Mash the rest of her life. Still, with mash, I don’t think she is getting everything the others are getting. She is about half the size of the other F3 olive eggers in her group. She still has a lot of baby feathering too where as the others have developed a lot of their adult feathers. She is skin and bones
She is starving slowly to death, I would have put her out of her misery long ago.

This is not just a cross beak, but the whole lower mandibula is out of place with no way to fix this.

See that is exactly what my mind is telling me. But my heart is hurting over the decision. That’s why I needed a word outside of my own self. Thank you ❤️
Sometimes, the best thing we can do for our chickens is the hardest thing for us to do. What quality of life would she have? It’s not fair to an animal to keep it alive just to make ourselves feel better. I would think tube feeding would be appropriate for a short term situation - a sick or injured bird - but not long term. That’s a terrible quality of life.

Please remember there is no right or wrong in these situations. Only what is best for you, the chick and your flock. These are other people's thoughts, to help you make the best decision for yourself and the chick. Don't allow anyone to guilt trip you into something you may be sorry for later (either way). Whatever you decide will be the best and right answer. They do not live in your house or take care of your flock. Only you know what that entails and only you can make the right decision, whatever it is.
Good luck and know that whatever you decide you have a friend who believes you made the best decision under the circumstances. :hugs
