thank you all - for my first hatch ever I think me and the babies did pretty good. I am going to watch that lighter colored baby close and do the same thing for him that I did for Peanut - and hope for the best.

I tried putting Peanut in the brooder with the chicks but they are little muggers - they ganged up on my poor baby so I put her back in the bator for now - I was worried she would hit her head on the heating element - has anyone had that happen? tomorrow I am going to try and move them into a seperate brooder - as soon as the little ones yoke is all gone.

one of my friends said they should be named PEANUT BUTTER JELLY !! i dont think so

I should be setting some eggs in a few weeks - I have some of my banty eggs under a broody cochin right now and I am going to candle them in a few days and see how she is doing out there.

I will let you know sis if they are growing - if they are I am going to send you some hatching eggs

well these babies may be cute but my good are they a mess LOL I had a swallow dish of water in the brooder so I could make sure they were drinking and eating - well today Peanut and Topknot found the water andstarted to splash in it already - so I barely have water in it to keep the splashing down - I went into check on them all three are sitting in the water splashing around in there having a blast - they are newborns I did not realize that they would be that drawn to water this young - so I put the water in to one of the 8 holed chick feeders - they are still finding a way to get wet !!

they are eating like crazy - I thought it would be at least another day before UNO started to eat since he just absorbed the rest of his yoke today - but maybe he is just doing what his siblings are doing. you know Duckie see Duckie do LOL

I can see now these three are going to be a handful !!

Super cute! And yes, baby ducks are MESSY!!! Get ready for even BIGGER messes! I have two babies that are about 5 weeks old now. We fill up mud puddles for them and let them play.
Congrats on the hatch!
