Are my pullet mosaic or not? I have been breeding ayam cemani for 15 years. Last year I got a fully white rooster and this year I got this little pullet.

In conclusion, I do not inbreed my ayam cemanis. Every 4 years I have to replace a new rooster.
@Chang1993 I know it's been a while, but I was looking at this thread again and realized your pullet and chicks look a lot like hmong chickens. Do you have any hmong? Maybe they got in with your ayam cemani and got their genes mixed in.View attachment 1805987
AC were here long before GFF imported and introduce them. After all, these 2 little fellows came in single comb. Hope to be a cockerel and a pullet. Have fun guys, I'll keep update.
It sounds like your white birds are part hmong then. That would also explain the pea comb.@RoostersAreAwesome I use to breed hmong to thai, hmong to shamo, and hmong to assorted bantams. Ever since I started with AC, I never cross them into hmong. Somehow on the way, I think I got a hmong pullet in mistake as an ayam cemani pullet. When you crossbreed them up, they actually comes out in different colors and patterns.

That explains it. They're not mosaics. Their coloring is like mosaics (you can call their coloring "mosaic", though it would be a bit confusing). However, birds like those might have been used as the foundation stock for the mosaic project.@RoostersAreAwesome I have two breeding pens of AC, first pen was AC rooster with Hmong and AC hens. The second pen was full AC. He actually hatched under an AC mom, he was the 2/10 hatched white. His siblings were 8 black and 1 white pullet. The hmong hens with the other rooster didn't even comes out white. The other pen came in black breasted red, barred, and black. To keep them I save the 2nd pen two hens and the AC pen white rooster. Now, thats where the mosaic chicks coming from.
