Yikes. My husband has been on here awhile, and I have been excited to get on for some time-- and its taken ME WAAAAYY TOO LONG to figure the logistics of this site out. After reading the article in Psychology Today, I finally decided to get my own account- but I'll scram out of here before long if this isnt made easier. This is by far the most complicated, user unfriendly website I've ever been on.. and I work in computers and electronics for a living!

I dropped out of school in the 5th grade, am certified illiterate, blind, only have one hand (and three fingers on the other), I don't even know what the so-called "Internet" is, I have painted several rooms using oil-based paint with all of the windows and doors closed yet I find this site to be extremely easy to navigate and understand.

To put on an Avatar you have to go to profile and then to personality. From there you can upload your avatar, but you have to size it first before you can use it. There are other websites that will size your pictures for free so you can use them. Just do a search for avatar and there is a bunch of them if you don't have the software on your computer to do it. I'm not even here... my chicken is typing this while I sleep. Seriously though, if you're not used to forums it can be a little overwhelming just because there is so much information on here. Forums are little different than surfing but you to will adjust, adapt, and overcome. This site really is one of the better forums I've ever been on as far as layout and navigation. Welcome to BYC.

I had trouble in the beginning, too, but I just persisted until I understood the directions. I just downloaded my avatar the other day, and as you can see it won't cooperate. I don't know why it won't show up full size like everyone else's. I'll wait til I have about 10 hours of free time to try and resize it. (Yes it is 100 pixels)
