Most Money Spent?

Some might think $25 is too much for a bird. That is the most I spent as of yet. And my $25 birds come from Blue ribbon winning lines too. Some won at local county shows here too.
I agree a ribbon is a pretty ornament. And a true way to judge the quality you have is by how many want to buy from you because you have NICE PRETTY BIRDS. That is all that matters in the big picture. not a Ribbon

Ondra's Seramas :

Do I dare say? More than $50 and less than $200 on seramas.

Wanting seramas, also planning on paying around 200.00 for a pair of class B. Can't wait to get them.

preppy*hippie*chick :

Well, as far as not buying mutts I'd say that most if not all these high prices were paid to extremely reputable breeders not some dude we've never seen at an auction.

You are right buying from an extremely reputable breeder.

What I find funny is my neighbors think im rediculous for getting upset when stray (or their dogs) come into my yard.... and when i say "i've got expensive birds over here i'd appreciate that arent slaughtered" they just give me this stupid look. They must think all chickens are the same...

I value what I feel is my pricey birds, just as I value my birds that I sell for less than $5 each.

Just like a person has the same right to protection of their mutt dog as they do for their show dog.

I mean I know a guy who paid over $500 for a FISH, the fish got to him and died the next day... I think that's a little overboard for ME, but to him it was worth it to try.

People around here call my friend for "pet rabbits" and ask for her to give them a free rabbit or a rabbit for $5 ....when she's spent well over $50 on her breeders...some were $250 a peice.

What you wouldn't pay a dime for others would give their life savings to, animal, property etc

Not me, a friend with way too much time and money, just spent $1,800 having a dream coop built that looks like someting out of a House beuatiful and bought 6 chickens, 2 silkies, 2 polish and 2 auracannas for $300 from a 'exclusive' chicken shop. I know she's spent at least $500 decorating the coop and buyign chicken related toys.

I am curious to know what someone gets when someone pays the higher prices...

The answer is... exactly what I wanted.

I should add that after many, many years in the horse business this seems very inexpensive. Everyone seems happy with their birds, whether they were free or $100 so it shouldn't matter.
