I have one male rooster of about a year and a half a hen of the same age and pullet of 9 months old but the eggs they lay are mostly infertile I get 1 out of every 5 that is fertile and I believe it’s not normal. Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Does one of your friends have another silkie roo that you can borrow his services for a month. If the fertility improves then you need to look at your roo. If it doesn't then the hen and pullet. I think there are treatments that can help with your roos fertility. Hope this helps..:thumbsup

Ok I’ll try that. Thanks a lot, very helpful

Before you bring in another birds, and the possible disease and pests with it,
try clipping the feathers around both the male and the females vents.

Also what all and how exactly are you feeding?
Nutrition can play a large part in fertility.

Molting can decrease a cock/erels activity.
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!
