Yes we can get it through Amazon here but it's terribly expensive.

I can purchase a 40kg bag of flax seeds= which would do the same thing. I have fed this to the horses for years and years - good protean and adds a lovely shine to their coats. Hmmm haven't fed that to the horses in a while (too much weight isn't good on an old horse's legs), but maybe I'll get a bag of the ground flax and mix it in with the chooks morning porridge. hmmmm....
Does the flax help increase appetite too? Half the problem w/ moulting is the bird is so miserable & frumpy it doesn't eat well right at the time it needs the nutrition most during moult.

That's why we like Missing Link cuz it seems to help w/digestion/appetite so the bird gets nutrition when it should be eating the most. I don't know which ingredient helps the digestion/appetite most ~ all I know is it works!

We picked up Missing Link at our local pet store in the bird food aisle. It's not cheap so we use it sparingly for 6 birds at 1/4 teaspoon over some kind of yummy wet treat about 3x per week/every week & that way no matter which bird starts moult at whatever time of year the birds are pre-fortified when moult strikes. We refrigerate the package after opening to preserve freshness.

We just never know when a bird is moulting now cuz there's no baldness or loss of appetite now... the only way we are alerted to moulting is when there are feathers in the yard yet the birds are all normal.

Missing Link is non-GMO & uses a proprietary blend of phytonutrients... if we had a dog or cat I would get the Missing Link that's made for dogs or cats too that's how sold DH & I are on Missing Link.

Well, Rosie's day has just been made. I will do a full update with pictures tomorrow.

Those darn snails of hers finally laid eggs. So much for me calling them duds as it took so long for them to lay. I kinda was hoping they never would while she has been dying for baby snails.
Water snails breed like roaches... I brought home one large aquarium snail & before I knew it there were whole baby snails all over the tiny aquarium!!! Good luck!

I am seeing some very odd things on here with links since the upgrade. It’s very hard to distinguish from what is a link and what is the actual content.

Is anyone else having these crazy looking links?

Not a big fan of so. In fact could be a huge dealbreaker with me.

This is what I see

Nope nope nope - I absolutely detest it.

Make it go away….. 😡😡😡😡
I appreciate paying sponsors & advertisements but on my laptop the ad's super-impose over the posts so I'm seeing them doubled over each other. I have to hit my refresh button each time to refresh the page back to normal. Earlier today I had to remove myself from BYC for a while cuz videos weren't posting ~ it seems to be working now but the super-imposing ad's are still occurring. It's sad that the BYC updates still have several bugs ~ how did we ever live before we had advanced tech?

Up, Up, and To Sleep

Tilly found the roost tonight!

View attachment 4227370

While Niamh and I had a battle of wills. 3 times she tried to roost in the grapevines. The first time I put her on the ground and she went around the other side of the coop and climbed back up into the grapevines again. I let her mess around for a while and then I removed her and put her into the Cluckle Hut.

Out she came again. This time when she got onto the main coop roof I stopped her with a firm NO!. I pointed the other way and told her, "Go To Bed". This is a phrase I have used every time I have directed her to the coop from day 1. This time she turned around and went to bed in the Cluckle Hut like she is supposed to.

She knows what I want her to do, she just wants to sleep where she wants. She is a sweet girl.
They may not always like it... but our 6 girls know exactly what "go to bed" means!

Ginny is the hardest one to get to bed. She doesn't like the ladder so we built her steps using bricks.
