Up, Up, and To Sleep

Tilly found the roost tonight!

While Niamh and I had a battle of wills. 3 times she tried to roost in the grapevines. The first time I put her on the ground and she went around the other side of the coop and climbed back up into the grapevines again. I let her mess around for a while and then I removed her and put her into the Cluckle Hut.

Out she came again. This time when she got onto the main coop roof I stopped her with a firm NO!. I pointed the other way and told her, "Go To Bed". This is a phrase I have used every time I have directed her to the coop from day 1. This time she turned around and went to bed in the Cluckle Hut like she is supposed to.

She knows what I want her to do, she just wants to sleep where she wants. She is a sweet girl.
I love her designer feathers 🪶 ❤️ 💕 😍
She's stunning 😍

Rat update: Moved the chickens into their run for there safety during high winds. Which is quite far from where they have their food and water usually, where the rat hole was. (At least for rats) I have seen no more activity. Went to let the chickens out to free range again and a rat was in one of the traps! I think baited with either liqueurish or peanut butter!

I didn't see the rat on the barn cam last night, and I forgot to set the trap. It needs new batteries though I would think, I am just about to head to the hardware store, batteries and some cement grout; also a new drill bit for concrete. Yep doing some home renovations, but I feel that I am drilling into a spot with re-bar in the concrete as I just cannot get past the depth I am at!

It's Pony Sunday
How about a donkey - love this boy he such a character, he resided at the location where I kept my horses with I used to work out west. And an added bonus of some 'heery coos', those black Angus heifers are so friendly!
