While Niamh and I had a battle of wills. 3 times she tried to roost in the grapevines. The first time I put her on the ground and she went around the other side of the coop and climbed back up into the grapevines again. I let her mess around for a while and then I removed her and put her into the Cluckle Hut.
Out she came again. This time when she got onto the main coop roof I stopped her with a firm NO!. I pointed the other way and told her, "Go To Bed". This is a phrase I have used every time I have directed her to the coop from day 1. This time she turned around and went to bed in the Cluckle Hut like she is supposed to.
She knows what I want her to do, she just wants to sleep where she wants. She is a sweet girl.
So sad. I am sorryUnfortunately NiNi choked while I was at the fall market with my parents.Hubby didn't find her in time.
Trying to feed the chickens too?But maybe stop leaving tiny soggy corpses in the grass just outside the gate to the chicken plot, please![]()
I am thinking they might have been a year old there. Two more cotton balls that look slightly used![]()
Rat update: Moved the chickens into their run for there safety during high winds. Which is quite far from where they have their food and water usually, where the rat hole was. (At least for rats) I have seen no more activity. Went to let the chickens out to free range again and a rat was in one of the traps! I think baited with either liqueurish or peanut butter!
