He isn't a devil; he just ninja kicked a perceived threat. Good boy!!! (I do feel bad for kitty, but I can't be angry/upset with Mr. LC!)

Oh he can do no wrong in everyone's eyes here. He is a charmer and it's a good thing he is friendly and isn't one of those Roos who attack people - in that case he would not be staying. Had that in the past and wont deal with that sort of Roo again.

I’m sorry you lost Twister and hope the best for her sister.

Topsy is fine, her crop was down yesterday morning as normal, and yesterday she was eating well and cruising about with her other sister Flopsy (who is moulting).

Does the flax help increase appetite too? Half the problem w/ moulting is the bird is so miserable & frumpy it doesn't eat well right at the time it needs the nutrition most during moult.

That's why we like Missing Link cuz it seems to help w/digestion/appetite so the bird gets nutrition when it should be eating the most. I don't know which ingredient helps the digestion/appetite most ~ all I know is it works!

We picked up Missing Link at our local pet store in the bird food aisle. It's not cheap so we use it sparingly for 6 birds at 1/4 teaspoon over some kind of yummy wet treat about 3x per week/every week & that way no matter which bird starts moult at whatever time of year the birds are pre-fortified when moult strikes. We refrigerate the package after opening to preserve freshness.

We just never know when a bird is moulting now cuz there's no baldness or loss of appetite now... the only way we are alerted to moulting is when there are feathers in the yard yet the birds are all normal.

Missing Link is non-GMO & uses a proprietary blend of phytonutrients... if we had a dog or cat I would get the Missing Link that's made for dogs or cats too that's how sold DH & I are on Missing Link.

When I have a moulting bird that is feeling down I pop some Tylenol into them. I treat them like a baby that is teething; I am sure that growing new feathers is very taxing and makes one feel miserable, so why not help them feel a bit better.

The Tylenol does the trick and they feel good and start eating and moving around. I have been keeping an eye on Flopsy as she is having a miserable time moulting she doesn't like to move as the pin feathers on her legs seem to be rubbing against her. But she is still eating well and digging around so I have held off on the Tylenol for her

How do you figure the dose for Tylenol/ acetaminophen?

Do you use human infant dosages and the liquid version with dropper?

I appreciate paying sponsors & advertisements but on my laptop the ad's super-impose over the posts so I'm seeing them doubled over each other. I have to hit my refresh button each time to refresh the page back to normal. Earlier today I had to remove myself from BYC for a while cuz videos weren't posting ~ it seems to be working now but the super-imposing ad's are still occurring. It's sad that the BYC updates still have several bugs ~ how did we ever live before we had advanced tech?

I was having the issue of ads superimposing before the upgrade. It was very annoying. I like to support forums I spend a lot of time on, so I finally upgraded again.

Hi Kelly. I agree Bridie is a cute name!

My girl is Bridge. It’s short for Bridgette. When Little Mill died, a couple of younger hens started attacking Bridge and I had to separate them. Then I had to nurse her back to health. She seems great now, but I still have to keep them separate. Flash, who was one of the ones attacking her, also died, but Flo would still like to get her.

Unfortunately, today Minnie Minnie is not feeling well. I got to them late this morning since I slept in and found her in the box and weak. She tells to be anorexic, so I tube fed her which I do occasionally. Unfortunately, she seemed to continue to the climb, so I started going into more crisis mode. She is sitting on a heating pad on the low setting in the kitchen with an area heater on. I placed a cup of water in front of her and she started drinking and drinking and drinking. She eventually got up and drank some more. But then she sat back down and I put her back on the heating pad.

I know better. I know that the first step is warmth and then hydration and then nutrition. But since she’s got this anorexic thing, I jumped straight to nutrition. Oops. I hope these measures will help. She seems slightly perkier, but still weak.
:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs

So sad that your happy little flock turned on Bridge when Little Mill passed. Do you have any insight as to why? Poor Bridgette!

You, too, have had too many losses - but you do a great job of nursing them!

I hope Minnie Minnie improves:fl:fl

How old are your flock mates now? They must be getting up there...so many worries with the girls as they age, and such relatively short life spans😢

How can you swoon not over a handsome little guy like that? Especially since he has a bit of the 'bad boy' flair that makes all the young girls go crazy?!?!😁

Really, isn't this swoon-worthy?

?especially for Alex? (tee, hee, hee). Right, @featherhead007

I figured a foot marching didn’t really count as standing on one foot 😉
