~**Motorcycle Thread**~ For the Biker in us ....

Sorry to bust you bubble but I work at a Auto auction and I see Harleys bring dang good money and Jap not even selling! I know a ton of dealers that used to buy and sell Jap bikes and now they wont even look at them cause they are not selling! If they are its dirt cheap. Buy AMERICAN and help support you fellow man and woman!

Your not busting MY bubble at all..I'll buy American when they put into production a product that meets my requirements..High performance motor that needs NO upgrading, incredible braking, smooth power delivery, 300 mile range, great lean angle, center stand, electrically adjustable windshield, electrically adjustable headlights, 770 watt alternator, adjustable rear suspension, shaft drive, adjustable seat, heated grips for less than 13 grand which is Sportster territory not half the bike I have.
I need attributes of a touring bike (wind protection, range, smoothness) along with the attributes of a sport bike...lean angle, power, suspension, braking..Harley does not have anything close...They go straight and look cool..Sorry I want more...

Thats what YOU NEED! I'll ride my bike anywhere you ride yours.I dont NEED all that. All you did was buy a jap bike thats made like a cadillac I'm just fine with out all that. I have nothing wrong with jap bikes just that they dont hold their value. All I was saying is that a Harley holds its value and you tripped cause I was right ...

I refuse to allow this to become a Harley vs. Every-other-bike-in-the-world war.

Be nice.

I DO joke with DH when he starts that "Harley's hold their value" thing and tell him that I can buy a Kawasaki, ride it for 5 years put it in the garage, buy another, ride IT for 5 years and put it in the garage, buy ANOTHER, ride IT for 5 years and I now have THREE bikes and STILL haven't spent as much money on it as his HD !

And don't even get me started on maintenance and shop work ..

Hey, seriously, though; we all love bikes (like chickens) and we have our own tastes and limits to what we'll spend (like chickens) and when it's all said and done; they all do pretty much the same thing (like chickens)

Enjoy the ride!!

It seems to be soooooo much harder to get ANOTHER one than it is to KEEP the one you had .. I'm sorry.

Okay I took my meds and slept a bit so I am little calmer...

Only point I was trying to make I guess is that you get very little for a LOT of money..(Fair enough?)
FWIW I bicker like this with all my Harley friends and I have a bunch..They laugh at my 'scooter' and its sewing machine sound (it really does sound like a sewing machine), then I whack the throttle and there laughter and smiles dissappear.. ;-)

Ride what you got, I wish I'd see more of them on the road and less parked in front of a bar on a beautiful Sunday afternoon...IN any case I am sure we can at least all agree..2 wheels are way better than 4! Peace!

Next year I hope to get back to TN as it is one of my absolute favorite states...I did Knoxville to Hartford last summer in 13 hours...Was around 900 miles or so...(So yes you are correct..in order to do that I NEED all that stuff! ;-)
