A lot of people have been asking about egg color with the mottled Ameraucanas. Now I can't speak for everyones mottleds, but for ours here is a photo showing side by side comparison with white eggs. This photo is 100% raw no editing other than to add our farm name for copy write protection. No color effects whatsoever.
You can even see a nice blue reflection on the Styrofoam carton. Gorgeous color and I've been raising them for 4 years now hatching pullets to keep for the following year and have never seen a green tint to any of their eggs.
We are working with Mottled Ameraucanas this year. We have a Blue Mottled rooster, a split Blue Mottled hen and a solid Black hen we will be working with. The Blue split girl has a decent egg color but a little green and the Black girl had a nice blue egg so they will live as a trio and just hatch the chicks in separate areas as their egg colors are easy to tell apart. All of the Splash chicks at hatch will just be sold as EEs locally.
The split hen has a good leg color but the Mottled rooster has the normal legs you see with Mottled.
I started a facebook group search for mottled ameraucana on facebook and you should find it. if not PM me if you want an add.
