It's not always a good thing when a cockatiel lays eggs though, it can be a chronic problem and isn't very good for a cockatiel to lay a lot. Tweety and Rosie are about 5 years old (I've had them for 2 years), and I've only gotten 1 egg from Rosie, and like 20 from Tweety (most of them recently), which is very bad. She lays exactly 3 eggs every few months, so she has a chronic egg laying problem. :-/
Yeah, I know. I've done quite a fair bit of research on cockatiels and eggs (because I was going to breed my female, Pookie, but, unfortunately, Chilli died
). I'd just love her to lay an egg though. I'd keep it forever.Have you tried changing Tweety's daylight hours, to see if she doesn't lay as much? By covering her cage or something? That might help.

Usually, if they're kept inside, they think that artificial light is the same as natural light and they lay accordingly (longer days usually signal Spring/Summer, which is the mating season for a large majority of birds).

It's a shame I couldn't breed her, I think Chilli and Pookie would have made beautiful babies.
