I already kinda have one.... One of my hens switched genders last fall. She quit laying eggs, got a big rooster comb, spurs, and a crabby rooster temperment. She/he looks just like a roo now, it's the strangest thing. She/he has attacked me numerous times, but so far has not inflicted serious injury. I'm worried about her/his spurs though, they're starting to get worryingly big and sharp.

You should probably get rid of it then if it attacked people then it's no good and will cause more trouble then it will help you. I've read about that chickens switching genders, it's odd but very cool if it happens to you

Yeah, hopefully it's not over $200.

The starter will be the most money. My dad's putting his overtime money towards the wheeler, and next week he gets some bonus money, and we're going to put that towards fixing our dozer, since a piece on that broke.
It seems like everything breaks at once. :barnie

Yep i know what you mean, we are always having problems with our lawnmowers. We have 3 and they just stop working at the same time

The weird thing is Jackie only tries to attack me, no one else. :idunno I couldn't get rid of Jackie, because she was my very favorite hen before she switched genders. She loved to sit on my lap and eat treats from my hand. She also is best buds with my other RIR, Pebbles, who is bullied and hadn't had a buddy since her bestie Jill died on August 2nd. :(

Congrats :) Did you get a ribbon?

Thanks! It's probably on his cage, I wasn't able to be there but my sister who runs 4-H works just across from it so she went to see for me (plus, she gets in free)
 He's stunning.
Congrats, Dan!!
Indeed, he was really rugged when we got him, no back feathers.

Thanks!
