Would anyone like to know a little of my chicken history?

I know a lot and I wrote about it but sure!!!

How many chickens do you have?

Five
I ended up leaving the heat lamp on because it continued to drop.

Oh okay. Man, it's -7 right now. We put Vaseline on all the roosters combs, so hopefully they won't freeze.

Yeah, the poor little guys have been having a hard time with frostbite..

Ok, I'm working on a bedding article today (which is why I haven't been on here much) So my question is: What is your favorite bedding and why?
And what are some things you like and dislike about it?

And what are some things you like and dislike about it?

I like wood shavings because it is more absorbent and its less likely to get mites. What I don't like is that it is harder to clean up then hay and sticks to my clothes when I'm using it.

I use pine shavings.

Pros: fairly cheap, easily available, makes the coop smell good

Cons: my chickens sometimes try to eat them, depending on brand they can be dusty
