Not to scare you, but do you have a basement and what state do you live in?
Try to calm down if you can and start to gather your chickens just in case, but I'm sure nothing will happen.
Get yourself a glass of milk, soda, water or tea and sit down. We get tornado watches a lot here.

Yes, we have a basement, and we're in northern Minnesota. Sadly I can't gather my chooks up because I'm at my cabin right now, and they're at my house. I'm worried for them.

I'm looking at the weather radar around that storm area. You and your chooks should be okay!
I am a worrier too, but I'm sure everyone would be worried in any kind of storm. We had a VERY bad storm hit the 12th. It created this creepy yellow light then went away into the darkness of night, all you could see was lightning, not knowing if you would be okay or not or if there was a tornado on the ground. I was afraid the air pressure drop would kill my quail. He is fine but went into a small daze at the time.
