Lovey died in the night. I'm sad, but I'm glad she's not going to suffer anymore. I'll miss her a lot. Rest in peace, my Lovey Love.

Awe, I'm sorry Shannon. :hugs It was probably better that way. I hope you don't blame your parents though, I don't think there was anything the vet could of done anyways. :( You'll get to see her again, someday. Lovely had a good life. :hugs

Guys, look at this. My hair is really strange! So one day it's pretty wavy and curly...

then the next day it's a combination of straight and wavy...

and then it's perfectly straight the following day!

My hair doesn't ALWAYS do this, but it often does. And even when I don't braid it or anything, it still does it!

:hugs Thanks, Bella. :)

:hugs I blame myself more than I blame my parents. I know that they always make excuses and I should have tried harder to make them take her. I knew that it was too late to treat her, but she could have been put out of her suffering months ago. I blame myself for all of that. I can't do anything now, except be happy that my angel isn't suffering anymore. Lovey did have a good life with us, for the most part.
Her life was horrible at first, she was treated like nothing and her health was awful. We rescued her from that horrible place and helped her get better. She pooped some eggs and did what chooks do. Watching her first dirt-bath and her first free-range made me smile like crazy.
It's funny, I didn't know what to name her when we first got her, so I called her The Fat One. From then on, she had a bunch of different names, like Bumblefoot, but we stuck to Lovey in the end. Lovey Love. :3
I'm going to miss her so much. We had so many memories together.
She scared everyone who came to visit us, because she was so big. It was fun.
She used to sit at my feet, on warm days, and we'd just relax together.
There's so many memories that I've shared with her. She was so beautiful. Even the education bloke thought Lovey was a beautiful chicken. ^-^

She saved me, it was a shame I couldn't save her. At least, now, she's at peace.

You did your best, it's not your fault either. I think if she could talk, and you asked her if she would rather live a little longer or not, she would of wanted to stay with you. You saved her life, and she understood that. :hugs

I am really sorry.  Where did you rescue her from?

:hugs From some horrible owner. He had no respect for chickens. Their water was dirty, their beaks and toenails were overgrown, they were crammed in a tiny cage, they were all sick, their feathers were disgusting and covered in sick, they were inbred. It was a really upsetting sight. What made it worse was that he kept chickens for fighting. He also kept a dove in a shed with hardly any light, dirty water and a dirty cage. It made me so mad.
We brought Lovey and Lady Marmalade there. They were expensive and neither laid eggs. I thought it was a horrible idea, because my parents rushed ahead and brought them without letting me check them for illness (even though it was clear they were sick). But, they turned out to be two beautiful characters, with really awesome personalities. :3 We helped them both battle their sicknesses and they were healthier than they'd ever been. Unfortunately, Marmalade became lethargic and blind, then she died. And Lovey got too old to fight it anymore. :(
