Impressive

I would like to try dancing, obviously not as seriously as you, I think I'm too old now to start taking ballet/gymnastics seriously anyway, seems you have to start very young for that. But maybe like those Zumba classes old women go to

Okay, maybe not. But something.

Thanks!
You're never too old to start dancing. Yes, it is true that it's easier to pick up when you are young, but it's definitely not impossible to begin when you're older. I know many dancers who didn't start until they were an adult. And, you should dance to your satisfaction and not others. If you're comparing yourself to other dancers, you'll never feel good enough. But if you're truly dancing for your delight, it will be much easier and more enjoyable.

Yeah that goes for everything really, you should do it for yourself - not others. I used to run a lot, got kinda out of shape recently but have started jogging again. I wanted to be a gymnast or runner when I was younger, but I'm afraid that I've been slacking the last few years and may have lost it. Once we're settled down in our new house I want to start training properly. That means lifting weights, press ups, pull ups, sit ups, squats, running, cycling, swimming.. Uhhh ._.
Do you have to do those kinds of things too?

That's a good goal.

I do some workout exercises, yes. It's important to stay toned and stretched when in dance. I hate running but I love walking so I do that pretty regularly. I don't exercise as much as I should though.

But, if you count running around at our busy lodge doing things a workout, then I work out a lot!

Yes I think that does count as exercise :p I went from being able to run up mountains to being weaker than a soggy pretzel. I have improved, but wow I hate being out of shape. You must be in good shape if you're a dancer, I'm sure you exercise much more than the average person. In fact I know you do, because, well.. Just look at the average person

Haha, you might have a point there!

I'm not super toned and I definitely don't have a petite and skinny build, but I'm not overweight and I'm learning to accept the fact that building muscle (as well as growing taller) causes you to get bigger, like it or not. I am definitely getting stronger which I like. Personally, I think a healthy build is one where you're not super skinny.

Yeah, I'm not petite either, everyone in my family is tall. But building muscle is a good thing - besides, it's really hard for a girl to look bulky. From muscle anyway. When I bought weights a lot of people were worried I was going to get huge man-shoulders or something, but toning up just means burning fat and building muscle, and I definitely don't have man-arms, I don't even have Woman-arms. Lol, I think a lot of girls are scared they're going to lose their figure or something :idunno

I run too! Well, not super seriously, just the occasional 5K and such. :)

It's fun isn't it? I was more of a short distance runner, I could run faster than everyone else in my year right up until I was about twelve. And then, yeah kinda let myself go a bit. I love the rush you get from it.

Oh yes! I didn't really start running up until last fall. I was really proud of myself to because I've always been a somewhat athletic person, but cardio was my enemy, so when I started I could barely run 1/2 mile, and in a month I slowly worked myself up to 1 1/4 miles, and I've continue to work on it since then. My friend was trying to convince me to do track with her this past spring, but I didn't want that much commitment, so I decided against it. Maybe I will next spring.
