So my dog and I were pretty dang close to getting sprayed by a skunk today.......(also, I thought they were nocturnal? Not sitting out in the open, in broad daylight, 10 feet from the ditch.

Have any of you guys read/seen "If I Stay"? It's really good but really sad. Anyways, I tried to draw the actress (Chloë Grace Moretz) who plays the main character (Mia Hall) in the movie.

Yeah.

I was taking him on a run with my bike, (so he could burn off his excess energy) when all of I sudden I see this white and black thing. The first thing I thought was, "Cat" because my neighbor has a white and black cat, and we have two stray cats around. Well, by the time I saw it was not a cat, but a skunk, I was probably 20 feet from it, and my dog, (being the idiot he is) decided to try to chase it. Luckily, he only got about 5-6 feet from my bike before I grabbed his leash and pulled him back towards me. The whole time he was barking/yipping, the skunk was just sitting there, before (thank goodness) it decided to waddle off into the woods instead of spraying us.

Ah, that explains it. I'd only seen them at dusk/night before, so I assumed they were nocturnal.
