Sorry I haven't been on BYC much, I've been very busy + my sister used all our data for the month so I'm only able to get online if I go to wifi. (I'm at the library alternating between YouTube and doing biology at the moment. )

I've been okay. I seem to be having really good days and really bad days lately. But God is growing me in so many ways that I'm thankful for all the stress and pain. How are you??
The lodge is pretty good; it's already getting busy.

I really miss talking with you too!

And don't feel bad. I have been so dormant on BYC lately, it's not even funny. XD

I'm so excited.. but I can't decide which breed.
Buff Orpington, ameracauna, barred rock, rhode island red or gold star??
Which one is the nicest, possibly cuddly?
My vote is gold star, but I have never owned chickens, so i'd love to hear from some that have!

If you want really cuddly chickens, get some ex-battery hens. You'll be saving a life, and getting a really friendly chicken!
Or, if you're not so sure, go for breeds like Orpington, Easter Eggers, Silkies, Barred Rock, Brahmas, Mutts, etc. They're usually pretty friendly.

GET EASTER EGGERS!!!! All my EE's are super cuddly - they treat me and sis like we're their legit mothers

When they were little, we would bring them in the house, put on a big sweatshirt, and let them crawl up our sleeve. They would sleep like that for HOURS. Poor little exhasuted chickies

Although, if you want a cuddly chicken that will sit on your lap no matter what, get brahmas. I've had 6 of them, and every one of them LOVED to sit on my lap, whether they were "tame" or not.
Cochin bantams and silkies are friendly too. My two cochin babies were raised by a broody hen, but they were still really easy to tame. I love them so much.
In my experience, GS's aren't super friendly. RIRs are typically pretty chill, but they aren't super friendly either. I have heard multiple stories of cuddly barred rocks and BOs, but our were never really that friendly

Buff Orpington 100%!!!! They are the sweetest most affectionate birds!!
