Movies that make you cry?

Quote:
I saw that movie when it first came out in theaters and I thought it was pretty dumb...probably because it was so long. But I went with the flow and bought it when it came out on video. Got bored one day and watched it at home, and THAT's when it got me crying. I don't know what it is, but certain movies are better on the big screen, and certain ones should just go straight to video. That's like Armageddon, that one had me crying in the theater, but at home it was just another movie

I thought of another one: Frequency.

I can also cry at commercials, generally any of those Pedigree ones with David Duchovney's voice over as the dog in the commercial, or any of the adoption ones. Some Kodak commercials from a long time ago used to choke me up. I refuse to watch any of the "save the children" somewhere commercials -it offends me that the organization is TRYING to make me cry.

Ok, I confess -- I should get frequent crier miles...

I couldn't keep from crying in The Abyss when Ed Harris is typing on the keyboard while running out of oxygen/liquid air mixture to his wife after she's sobbing telling him to head back, "knew this was one way trip, but had to come" or something like that.... WAAAAH!!! I cried at the ending of Dirty Dancing. I cried in Footloose. I cry when I'm happy, I cry when I'm sad, I cry when someone ELSE is happy or sad...

More I thought of...

The Horse Whisperer
Untamed Heart........................ OMG balling on that one......
Up Close and Personal
Forest Gump, when his mom AND Jenny die!

The movie Here on Earth and Powder get me teary eyed. I love the movie Fiddler on The Roof. I would love to see Where the Red Vern Grows. I read the book ages ago and cryed. I really liked the book A Day No Pigs Would Die.

Hope Floats - When the dad leaves after the funeral, and the little girl is trying to leave with him . . .

Marley and Me and Up! both got me, too. And Mask. I went to see that when it first came out, and swore, as I was leaving the theater, that I would NEVER watch it again. Awesome movie, but OMG!

The only movie that ever depressed me to the point where I sobbed the rest of the day and will never be able to watch it again is called Edges of the Lord. There's a kid named Liam Hess in the movie who looks a lot like my youngest son, and what his character goes through in the movie is just awful. Breathtaking acting from a young 'un, but augh.

Other than that, my tear-jerkers are:
Big Fish
What Dreams May Come

and the big one:
Bambi.
