Muddy’s homestead expansion journey!

Pics
worked outside this evening to try and catch up before the weekend.
We moved the kunekunes back to kuneyville to see if they’d stay inside the fence this time. Some bees were in a pile of hay that was near the tree and little Ethel and I got stung at the same time! As I was trying to see what got us, I got stung a second time 😩
I just took some Benadryl because 3 hours later it still hurts!

Sweat bees?

Of course the piggies managed to get out again……we figured out they were escaping to get wild strawberries 😂 so we moved them to the back again because they don’t try to escape there so far and they’re happy with the other piggies until we can switch some things around with the fences.

They seemed bigger….appeared to be honeybees but I’d never seen them on the ground like that
My honeybees would get on the ground during the winter gathering the fines from flaked corn as if it were pollen. The only time I saw them attack anything was a mule deer buck who couldn't wait and grabbed a mouthful of corn, bees and all. Looked like he got stung in the mouth and took out of there fast with bees chasing him.

It isn't normal for honeybees that are gathering pollen, nectar or water to attack.
