Muddy’s homestead expansion journey!

My local feed mill/store stocks kalmbach brand and I currently get my flockmaker crumbles for $20/bag. I had the bright idea this week to just pick up some “cheap” meatbird or all-flock feed from RK to supplement my meatbirds and about had a heart attack when I saw the prices at $21/bag
I guess I’m going back to the feed store sooner rather than later for more premium feed

We’ve decided to take a “pool day” this afternoon after we complete the “necessity chores……but mr muddy has already named off a million things we should do instead

It never ends. There is always something more to do.

Nice day out! Kinda got away from us as usual but at least we're getting a little recharge

My latest hatch don't go so well a dozen eggs shipped from a hatchery....1 cracked, 7 non-fertile and/or quitters....4 hatched and 1 died in incubator another had to be culled . 2 in the brooder with 1 having a degree of splay
Very expensive lesson for 2 chicks

So I found more birds on a local FB page and I picked up 10 more yesterday. I talked about how great BYC is and give her a card. She said she thought she was a member and I looked her up to see that she's a 14 year member
