mummy to be

Ouu and the animal control officer thing sounds like a great thing to get into. Stuff like that woman we got the ducks from really gets my goat. *shuts up now*.

I live on a farm in the making! A almost eight acre piece of property out in the middle of nowhere! I love it! Chickens are fun and we get more eggs from them but I like ducks soooooo much better!
Your cat sounds ADORABLE! And yeah our cat try's to sit and watch the ducklings but we don't let her, Afraid it would turn into something more than watching!
I had never heard of leonbergers before but just googled them and all I can say is Wow! that is one Big and Beautiful dog!!! I recently met some great Pyrenees and thought they were big! Are they usually sweet tempered? Look out counter food!
It is a constant poop battle with the ducks! Especially there swimming pool! Changing the water in it all the time!! And the quail are pretty pointless, mostly just for fun. We were going to get a bunch but then a snake came and ate most of them and our last female just died! So it's all boys right now, noisy little things! The eggs are about useless being so hard to crack and tiny but my older brother made a pound cake out of them and it was really good!
I don't know about all rabbits but mine don't mind me touching there babies. I don't really let anyone else though considering they are pretty used to me. They take about four weeks to gestate and are born blind and hairless, then take another four weeks to be weaned. They are the cutest at around fifteen days old. That is when they are fluffy and open there eyes and begin to explore! Just went out and checked and sure enough 5 more little bunnies. I will have to post pics of some of this stuff so you can see.
I just recently met a guy that has a goat farm and he is teaching me all about them. Got to help with some kiddings to! That was fun!
And if you can't tell-I love writing so long letters are no problem!!

Whoop whoop long posts it is then, except this one. It's just after 7pm here and i should really grab some dinner so I'll do that and then reply properly. Back soon :)

Rabbits don't eat their babies often, it's just a rare thing usually due to a nutritional deficiency, not enough sodium in the diet. Some will even get a bit overzealous with their cleaning at birth and clean an ear, tail or toe clean off! I've never hatched ducklings, but good luck! I'm hoping to get some muscovy babies come Sunday!

Right where we're we...wow sounds like you live in a big place! How come you prefer ducks to chickens out of interest? My other half didn't really want ducks as he's been used to having chickens in the past. People had told us though that ducks won't destroy your garden as much. If that's true I'd hate to see what chickens do!
Yeh Ozzy is fab, I put some pics on my profile earlier so you could see. He's really started talking at you since sookie died. Poor fella. He's talking at the at the moment like I should be doing something, think he wants to play! He'll have to wait a sec!
I looked up your dog, they look like they could be made up of a mixture of breeds, look very sweet though! Yeh leonbergers are lovely. Really stupid. The first couple of weeks he was with dad I took him outside and he fell into the frozen lake, so I had to get him out. The next day he still charged up to it like he was guna jump! Stupid thing! Our last one neffi was amazing but she used to love eating hedgehogs. Do you have hedgehogs? Stupid question?! But Yeh they have one if the best temperaments out of the dog breeds we looked at. They think they are lap dogs though which can be interesting! They are used as water rescue dogs and also home help dogs for people with disabilities. Aw Pyrenees are lovely, I'd quite like a Newfoundland one day, they look like bears!
Eek snakes!? What type of snakes do you have? What part of the US are you in? Glad we don't have them really, only adders and they are in woodlands normally and quite rare to see let alone be bitten or have it attack anything. That's really horrible. Reading other people on here having problems with racoons and hawks! Glad we don't have those either! Sorry to hear that anyway. Bet that used slit of those lil eggs to make a cake! What is a pound cake? Sweet or savoury? We don't have them.
Yay congrats on the bunnies! Are baby bunnies called kits or dud I make that up!? It's good they are used to you. I'd love to see some pics! Yeh I worked in a pet shop for a while and during training they said that rabbits and hamsters will eat their babies if they don't smell like them anymore. Maybe it's just the UK that has cannibalistic animals!
That's cool someone's teaching you the goat ropes! I've heard they will eat everything, edible and non edible!
Duckies tucked up for the night finally, they take themselves to bed but only when they decide it's dark enough. I went to shut the door and they heard me come outside so they all got out of the coop grr. I don't think they even like me so I don't know why they came out! Eventually they went back in. I've noticed randy marches on patrol for a few mins after the girls are in before he gives the area the all clear and goes to bed himself! Funny things!

I prefer ducks because they just seem to have more personality. That sounds crazy I know but especially if you raise them yourself(as I am quite sure you'll find out!) They follow you around as babies and even when they grow up they are sweet and love to talk! Ducks can beat up a plant like no other! Especially if it comes up easy! Yeah Buck ( my dog's name ) is sweet. My mom found him on the road as a tiny and I mean tiny little puppy! We don't have hedghogs. That would be awesome if we did though! We could at least have some armadillos but no matter how hard I look I can not find one! I never thought of that but your right! Newfoundlands do look like bears! I really want a Border Collie! My mom and I saved one off the road not to long ago. He was thin and looked and acted like he once had a broken back. The sweetest thing you ever could meet. And sooo good and obedient. We let him in the house and he would lay there and just rest and be petted! Red and whit he was, we called him Rusty. Had him for about a month, was just about to take the found dog signs down and call him ours when his original owner showed up. One of those people that shouldn't have dogs! She had left him alone out tied in the yard for months! She wasn't even there! How the poor guy even lived I don't know! And his back had been broken by a tree limb. Broke our hearts to hive him back. Still regret it! As far as snakes go we have rattlers, coral, copperheads, ratsnakes, kingsnakes, the list goes on and on. I use to carry abn identification guide in my pocket and I said I would know what bit me before I died! And Pound cakes are really good! They are a very sweet heavy cake! You have got to try one some day! In the short time you were gone seven more bunnies were born! Your right they are also called kits. Right now I am juggling dinner and other things so I will post pics as soon as possible and I'll let you know when I do! My ducks are to dum to even go home by themselves at night! I have to guide them there!
