Last year we ordered the Rainbow layer (chicken) collection and were very pleased. This year we are ordering the Barnyard collection with 2 Geese, 7 ducks and 7 Turkeys.
Has anyone gotten this type of collection before? what breeds did you get?
Any pictures

I am so excited LOL.

What did you end up with in your Rainbow collection? I had ordered a 15 Rainbow Collection and a 15 assorted collection along with some RIR (5), and BR (6). I ended up with what looks to be all brown laying hens, 2 unknown hens, a SLW pair, a white Cochin pair, a pair of Buff Orpington's, 8 BR 4 of which are Roo's, a Delaware Roo, 5 Red Star hens, 6 Dark Cornish 5 hens one Roo, 2 Americana mutt Blue legged Roo's, 2 Black hens Maybe Jersey Giants. I cant tell if they filled my order of Rainbows with all hens or if the Sexer was having a really bad day. Oh and the 2 unknown hens are mixes of some sort, McMurray said one was an EE, but I find that doubtful since she has a straight comb, ( the blue egg gene is 97% linked with a pea comb).

And the other pictured below is a barred rock mix or something, her tail and coloring is different from the rest of my BR's. There are 2 BR hens in the background and MS Prissy in the for ground

I am really disappointed with my brown Rainbow layer collection and will not order from them again.

~ ~ ~ Wow I am really suprised your experience with them was so bad.

We had very good luck with them from start to finnish! Like i said above we had such a good experience we have ordered the Barnyard #1 collection of turkeys, ducks and geese for this spring.

This was our Rainbow collection..

We ordered the 25 (got 27) the only Roo was an EE and he was the free mystery chick.

Our girls were-

Australorps, blue andulusian (sp?), splash hamburg, silver spangled hamburgs, exchequr leghorn, white wyandottes, welsummers and RIR
it was a nice mix of white and brown egg layers the only EE was a Roo but thats ok we already have an EE hen.

One of the Welsummers went broody at the end of last month and hatched out this little chick this morning! we have 4 now and she is still sitting on a few eggs so i can not wait to see how many we have by morning :).

It sounds like your mix was much better than mine. I think from now on I will go to a breeder so I know what I am getting. The hatcheries just don't breed for standard, they breed for $$ and you never know what your getting.
